WATERSMEET -- State police had to use non-lethal force to subdue a subject involved in a domestic violence complaint.
Troopers responded to a report of an assault at the residence of two Watersmeet brothers at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
One of the men, a 20 year old, told Negaunee Regional Dispatch of his intent to commit suicide.
The dispatcher was able to persuade the subject to exit the residence. When he left, the 20-year-old man was armed with a knife and refused to drop it.
Police fired a bean bag round from a shotgun and arrested the subject.
He is lodged in the Gogebic County Jail and charged with domestic violence.
