Impatient driver

Posted by M L, Negaunee - Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 6:24 p.m.

There is just way too many impatient drivers on the road. Unfortunately, there is also way too many terribly bad drivers on the road, throw in some uplanned traffic guidance and it makes for a really horrible concaution. How many more accidents/deaths will it take for something to be done about this? Maybe a law which would make a mandatory traffic school for those drivers involved in accidents. Maybe a worse punishment for those who are found at fault. The need for change is upon us.

How about MDOT

Posted by UP Negaunee, Negaunee - Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 3:16 p.m.

Since the highway is controlled by MDOT perhaps we should push them to put a light at Lowes and the Brickyard road. They did a study on it a couple of years ago. That would break up 41 traffic a bit and give cars and trucks more time to turn.

Also, who's bright idea was it to re-route Wright street to the Walmart light but not put left-hand turn lights off of Wright onto 41? Now the truck drivers have to put up with impatient car drivers AND a garbage of an intersection.

Bad place

To be honest the whole situation there sucks. It is dangerous to say the least. Piss poor planning indeed. I think it would be wide to eliminate the left turn option out of Lowes all together. This spot has had several accidents since the opening of the store. Completely avoidable. The sad part is it will probably take a few to die there before it gets looked into. I hope not but snow is coming and it will get worse. I think it is foolish to try and take a left out of there with busy traffic on the highway. Never mind the rain that was there during the wreck. I hope everyone involved has a speedy recovery.

access roads

if there were an access road from lowes to the light at target/walmart these unnessisary accidents would happen less often, lack of forsite on the county/township part.
