CHASSELL TOWNSHIP -- A driver asleep at the wheel drove a fully-loaded fuel truck off US-41 in Chassell at around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The tanker ended up several hundred feet into the woods.  No one was injured and the truck only sustained minor damage.

It did take crews three hours to get the tanker back on the road.  Traffic was stopped in both directions for nearly 30 minutes as the truck was removed.

The Houghton County Sheriff's Department and the Chassell Fire Department responded to the scene.

Things were cleaned up by 10:30 the same morning.

Just how dangerous is that . Never mind he ran off the road where he did . What if that happened where there were houses or he rammed the back of a car that had stopped .
How about ticketed , fined and suspended for a while .
If he was that tired he should have stayed home from work .
