ESCANABA -- Although they may be rivals on the football field, two U.P. schools are teaming up to raise money for a good cause.
Gladstone and Escanaba High Schools are working together to raise money for the Delta County Cancer Alliance, through their Strike Out for Cancer campaign.
At Friday night's football game between the two schools, students will be selling visors and hats with the campaign logo on it.
This sale kicks off their big fund-raising event that will take place in May which is a softball game between the two schools.
Each student will have a person's name on the back of their shirt in honor or remembrance of someone affected by cancer.
"We've done it for volleyball the past two years and we've raised a lot of money for it and it's just something nice to do for them," said Escanaba senior, Melissa Zimmerman.
The students have about 100 hats and visors and hope to sell them all Friday night.
