ZILWAUKEE, Mich. (AP) - The Michigan Department of Transportation has begun inspection work on the Zilwaukee Bridge on Interstate 75 in Saginaw County.

The project is expected to be completed in six to eight weeks.

MDOT performs a detailed inspection of the bridge every four years.

Lane closures will be in effect on northbound and southbound I-75 across the bridge for the duration of the project. During weekdays, two lanes will remain open in each direction.

MDOT will reopen closed lanes at the end of each workday.
