IRONWOOD -- A Wisconsin man will be heading to prison in connection to a kidnapping of an Ironwood woman earlier last year.

Gregory Rantanen of Kimball plead guilty to felony kidnapping in Gogebic County.  He had forced the 27-year-old Ironwood woman into his truck in December.

He was arrested a short time after the woman escaped.

Judge Roy Gotham sentenced Rantanen to 10 to 30 years in prison this week, with credit of 285 days served.  In addition, the judge ordered Rantanen to register as a sex offender.

While this was not part of the charges brought against him, motions by the prosecutor's office were considered and accepted by Gotham that the crime was done with sexual intent.
