BESSEMER -- Security will be tighter in the Gogebic County Jail in a few weeks.

That's when $700,000 worth of renovations will be completed.

The renovations started in June.

Security improvements included a new inmate day-room, a women's jail cell and a new video visitation system.

The jail also added a new two-car garage, new electric heating and plumbing, new windows and fresh paint in the offices and jail cells.
