SAWYER -- Friday's thunder storms moved out just in time for the annual Jacobetti Fundraiser at Red Fox Run in Sawyer, and it was the most successful event to date.
One-hundred-forty-four people teed off to raise money for the Jacobetti Veteran's Home in Marquette.
Thirty-six teams from across the state participated; organizers even had to turn two teams away.
Over $8,000 is expected to be raised, all of which goes directly to the veterans, providing things like dentures, glasses and hearing aides.
"There's no other feeling in the world, no better feeling in the world, when you go out and help someone that needs something and you're able to do that. There's just no better feeling," said fund-raiser organizer Garry Henshaw. "I'm overjoyed when I get to do stuff like this."
Over $200,000 has been raised for area veteran's throughout the 14 years of the event.
