MARQUETTE -- NMU students studying Construction Management and Technology are getting a look at the job market.
Thursday, a career fair was held to connect students and potential employers.
Twenty-three companies were represented from across the Midwest; some from as far away as Maryland and Texas.
Job growth in residential construction has dipped, but employment options remain strong in commercial and industrial construction.
"Primarily for myself, it's jobs in the Midwestern United States, general contractors or construction managers," said Ben Herman, an NMU student in Construction Management.
"Our corporate office is in Brownsville, WI. Our company is a national utility contractor; we're looking for project managers, safety coordinators, estimators, that sort of thing," said Michel Corporation Recruiter, Jack Warner.
Many students use the fair to set up internships, while those preparing to graduate are already scheduling job interviews.
