HANCOCK -- Democratic House Representatives John Kivela, Scott Dianda, and Tim Greimel made a stop in Hancock Monday morning to listen to the issues facing people in the Upper Peninsula.

The House Democratic Caucus is making visits to cities all across the state as part of a Listening Tour to hear the challenges of the people who live here. The representatives say the first step in solving problems in the U.P. is by listening to the people's concerns.

Constituents came out to ask questions about how the state government plans to relieve U.P. problems like transportation, gas prices, and fixing roads. One of the biggest concerns brought up was the issue of keeping U.P. dollars in the U.P. and new revenue.

After the tour is completed, the representatives will take the collection of questions back to Lansing to work on creating solutions.
