Competition starts with Tuesday's endurance run

CALUMET -- 19 teams from the across the country and Canada have come to Michigan Tech to participate in the 11th annual SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge.
The teams began to arrive at the Keweenaw Research Center in Calumet Monday morning and unloaded their custom sleds for inspection.
The week-long competition kicks off Tuesday with an endurance run to Copper Harbor.
The teams are competing in either the internal combustion or zero emissions category.
All vehicles will be tested on fuel-efficiency, noise and performance.
