LITTLE BAY DE NOC -- What once was a busy ice village on Little Bay de Noc just a month ago, is now a ghost town.
It's only the second week in March, but authorities are telling folks to stay off the ice.
The recent warm weather is melting the ice rapidly, and if it continues, authorities believe there will be open water in the bay within a week or two.
This winter, Gladstone public safety has had 10 ice rescue calls, which is well above last year.
The most recent rescue happened Friday in Kipling.
Luckily the man who fell through the ice was uninjured.
Authorities hope it was the last rescue this year, and recommend anglers stay off the ice.
If anglers do have a shack still on the ice, officials recommend you get professional help to remove it.
