Thirty-five-year-old man plead guilty to two counts of possession of child abusive material and one count of using a computer with another to committ a crime.

ESCANABA -- An Escanaba man could face up to eight years in prison on child pornography charges which stemmed from a 2008 investigation by the Attorney General's office.
Wednesday, 35-year-old Scott Derouin plead guilty to two counts of possession of child abusive material and one count of using a computer with another to commit a crime.
All charges involve minors under the age of 14.
The investigation stemmed from a sting operation back in 2008 by the Attorney General's office through the Child Public Protective unit.
Derouin explained in court what happened.
"I was in a chat room, just talking to a girl and trading pictures. Turns out the girl was a..."
"You believe was 14 or younger?"
Derouin responded, 'Yes."
Derouin will also be charged as an habitual offender, third offense, which doubled the maximum prison time. With the plea agreement, five other charges were dropped.
Derouin will be sentenced in May.
