It will cost $66 billion through the end of this year to provide the extended unemployment benefits included in legislation that faces a key test vote in the Senate this afternoon.

Overall, the measure costs $148 billion and includes dozens of popular tax breaks for individuals and businesses that expired at the end of last year.
