Incredible

Slander pfffttt...seriously!!! Why doesn't the SRC say where they got their figures? Why doesn't the SRC have to substantiate their claims of what was "stolen" from the SRC club???? Do you have receipts to prove what you are claiming the amount supposedly stolen from the SRC was. Say what you want, all of us know the truth. Unfortunately for those who deserve it, justice will never be served.

I've seen vendictive people before, but these people take the cake. It's a shame, and a travesty of justice to see what has happened to Brenda. Whoever reads this, ensure you pick your friends wisely, or you could end up in the same situation.

Please do tell

I'm not saying she is guilty or not guilty, I was not there and do not know the circumstances. I have read what her supporters are saying, and I am just curiouse as to what the real story is then. Nobody better to tell us then the people who know the facts; so just what are they?

Closure

God Bless everyone for their support and encouragement of Ms. Lindeblad.

Everyone using this site is ultimately responsible for the comments they post on here.

Some previous comments regarding the Gould family, they are cause to sue for slander and have since been removed. If they so chose to pursue this course of action a search warrant would obtain the identity of the responsible party. However, The Gould family does not deem such slanderous comments based in ignorance worthy of further action.
When restitution is settled ALL of the members of the Shingleton Recreation Club can move forward with their heads held high knowing they have done nothing but bring to light issues that have long been in the dark. Hopefully Ms. Lindeblad will get the help she needs and hopefully the current and future members of The SRC Board will take their roles and responsibilities seriously as well as their accountability to each other and the community.

Peace

Guilty or not!!

Posted by Jimmy James, Minnesota - Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 8:19 p.m.

I am not here to dispute her guilt or innocence, but I think the Shingleton organization asked for something like this to happen. Why the heck does a President of a club have access to funds???

Regardless of the size of the organization, any org worth a beans has a treasurer that controls the funds. Any funds over a certain amount have to be voted on by the members with greater than 50% accordance to spend. Obviously they failed to employ risk management by not placing such rules in place. These rules are necessary to keep criminals at bay and honest people honest.

I wish to express my condolences for her family as they suffer the most anguish.

What is Right is Right

Glad our judicial system is working. I think BH is right. If she was in charge of the money, and she didn't spend it, who did? It was under her control only. She did not have to give in and take the plea, if there was nothing to be afraid of. Shingleton is in need of that money. They deserve to be paid back in full, with interest. Hopefully she gets the help with her problem with gambling. I wonder how many of the people who have wrote in, have done any business with her...Makes a difference. Shingleton trusted her and she cheated them. I think she got off easy.

Farce

This whole thing has been a farce, and it's a shame our justice system has allowed this to go on as it has. To throw out the receipts for not being originals? What more can you do at that point... you're supposed to have to prove someone guilty, instead they aren't even allowed to prove their innocence? For shame to those out for their revenge, the small town politice are ridiculous and the justice system shouldn't ever allow them to cloud the truth of matters. Why would she plead you asked? Probably because she doesn't have the $50,000 to spend defending herself in court... would you? I'd plead down too if my lawyer told me to for good reasons, as it's the sensible thing to do. For her to have gotten any jail time at all with a first offense is ridiculous based on the sentencing guidelines of Michigan, let alone her having receipts for everything... but hey, this is Munising, small town politics rules all. Hope you have the correct friends!

Justice is served!!!

Brenda stole and embezzled a lot of money from the new Recreation Club and the old board members that put thousands of dollars of in CD's money away for future kids. And for anyone to get on here to say we know the truth about Brenda and the Club, why did she plead guilty(Because the prosecution had lots of evidence)!!!!! Gambling is an addiction and I hoping she gets the help she needs but I believe defending her you become an enabler.
I hope the community gets behind and supports the Shingeton Recreation Club and kudus to the justice system......

She does not deserve this!!

What a shame, a woman tries to help her community and it slaps her back in the face. She did no wrong! I'm glad I know the whole story! Hang in there Brenda!

Incredibly Evil People

Posted by Thinking of you Brenda! Pokela, Chatham - Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 3:34 p.m.

What a shame to see someone go through the heartaches that this lady had to endure. In my mind from what I've read, this was not about justice...EVER!!! It was about revenge, and nothing more. To the people that put you through this, may you get yours in the end.

Rest assured, the community fully supports Brenda. How in God's name, can any of you, even face anyone, or look yourself in the mirror!!! Very heartless, and evil people...The only victim in all of this, is the innocent children, and family that you people fought so hard to tear apart.

I'm very glad I don't have to encounter people like you, where I live. I certainly wouldn't want so called friends, like any of you either. But hey, you know what they say, what goes around, comes around...

Hang in there Brenda, the community supports you!!!

God bless you Brenda. We who know you and the real story know that you are not guilty. It is sad that you have to pay the price for the evil intents of others. Just remember they will have to face the "ultimate judge" some day and their sentence will be for eternity.

Know the facts!

Posted by Proud to know Brenda, Munising - Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11:34 p.m.

Brenda plead guilty to stay away from a felony so she can keep her job. She had receipts for the majority of the money taken. She has been ridiculed by certain people who brought on the charges, her children cursed at and her name run into the dirt. This is a good woman who has donated a lot of her time and energy to help out a poor community. She did it to be kind, not to take money after years of service. Before you judge, find out the facts and look at the source.
