ALLOUEZ TOWNSHIP -- The Keweenaw County Sheriff's office is investigating the breaking and entering of three cottages along 5 Mile Point Road near Silver River in Allouez Township.
Police says the suspect, or suspects, stole food and alcohol from the three unoccupied cottages between last Tuesday, August 18, and Saturday, August 22, when the break-ins were reported.
The Sheriff's office believes the break-ins are tied to other thefts in the area. Items were stolen from the Ahmeek Cemetery, and there was a camp break-in on Silver Meadow.
Road both occured earlier this month. It is believed that the suspect(s) were camping near the mouth of the Silver River during the past week.
Anyone who has noticed any suspicious people or vehicles in the area of the Silver River or along 5 Mile Point Road is asked to contact the Keweenaw County Sheriff's office at (906) 337-0528.
