LUCE COUNTY -- Two motorcyclists are facing charges after being pursued by authorities in the eastern Upper Peninsula.

According to the Michigan State Police, it began on M-28, east of Newberry, when the cyclists were being pursued by a DNR conservation officer.  One pulled over and was arrested just north of Trout Lake.  That person is currently jailed in Luce County.

The other continued to drive down M-123 and went into Mackinac County.  There, deputies from the sheriff's department and State Police troopers continued the pursuit.

The motorcyclist drove off the road and into a swampy area near the I-75 and M-123 area.  Shortly after that, he turned himself in to officers.

He was lodged in the Mackinac County Jail.

Names have not been released pending arraignment.

You can run....

There's a saying in police work that goes like this "you might be able to out-run my car, but you can't out-run my radio".
