GWINN -- A home fire in Gwinn is under investigation Tuesday morning. According to the Forsyth Police Department, the call came in at 1:30 a.m.
The woman living at 249 Maple Street in Gwinn woke up when the smoke alarm went off. She and her daughter got out of the home safely.
Firefighters found the building fully engulfed.
While the exact cause has not been determined yet, it's believed to be electrical in nature.
The building sustained heavy damage and may be a total loss.
Forsyth firefighters were assisted by County Rescue 131, and the Salvation Army provided food and drink for those battling the blaze.
