Wow

Wow people have become so cruel.. Hence with the millions of kidnappings and children murders that have gone on recently.. Haley Cummings.. Caylee Marie...juss to name a couple.. I would be worried sick also.. My daughter 4th of July a few years back simply juss missed us through a crowd of people and was missing.. I ran around Gladstones park like a Raving Lunatic and she had been gone only a few minutes.. We searched everywhere.. I pictured her face down in the river, and lake.. You name it.. got the police involved within minutes.. Great big search party let out over Gladstone.. everyone was told to look for a girl in the stiped shirt.. brown hair .. so tall yatta yatta.. The whole point no matter the age.. anyone no matter the circumstances regarding the dissapearance is going to worry themselves to death till they resolve where the child is.. for someone not to worry.. heck that person obviously has no concern for anyone but themselves. Offending people is not my mission but I am so greatful that this boy was found unhurt.. My heart goes out to the family and am greatful ur son was found safely..

holy crap, i cant believe you even feel that way! I am sure his mother called everyone she knew before getting involved with the police. Maybe the kid should do some community service for what he had done to show him its not a joke to just up and run away. And for you yooper mommy, i pray for your children to have to live with a cold harted mother that you are. I think you need to get some counseling, to learn a little compassion.

Nice ...

Wonder if the parents are gonna have to foot the bill for the search party w/ Helicopters etc.? probably not... It's a shame to see the time and Money wasted on a kid who was probably po'd at his parents so he went to a friends to play Halo... C'mon at that age what kid doesn't have a cell phone on them 24/7...?

Just a thought......

Sounds as though the little boy ran away from home. Did the same in my youthful day but didnt have a search party looking for me.

Barely 12 hours??? Are you kidding?

Posted by Natalie Larson, UP - Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 12:10 p.m.

12 hours is generally deadly. 12 hours lost on a beach? What would you assume happened? 12 hours missing from walmart? Where would your mind jump? Dont think the UP is immune to these horrible tragedies. To the family, Ill keep my eyes peeled, and my prayers are with you!

You sound like the kind of person who does not give a crap about your kids, if you have them. A loving and concerned mother would do ANYTHING for their child, regardless of age. You can not be too safe this day in age no matter where you live. Yes he could of just not come home because of being with friends or angry about something. What if something happens or happened to this child? I hope you feel like crap for your ignorance!!!You should be ashamed! I wish the family luck in finding their boy and pray for his safe return.

Sad

This is terrible news to hear. There wasn't much information given. Was he out camping with his family? Was he out for a bike ride? Did he leave the house for a walk? Where was he last seen? Information like that might be helpful but I understand we have to wait till TV6 get this information. I hope they consider (if they haven't already) search and rescue on horseback and using ATV's and such.

They can't issue an Amber Alert because there are guidelines to follow. http://www.amberalert.gov/guidelines.htm

Also, I don't have children but I won't lighten up. 12 hours is a long time for a child to be missing, specially in this hot weather, and the first couple hours if not less are very crucial. Depending on the circumstances after so long it's not a rescue it's a recovery. That's why it would be nice to get more information.

Do you have kids?? 12 hours are you kidding me that is a lifetime of worry! There is a saying, "if you have nothing good to say, then say nothing at all"! To the family I hope you find your son soon and I hope he is okay!

you concerned guardians crack me up every time you post. do you know the rules for issuing an amber alert? that might answer your question. as for the top story i'm not sure what you're seeing. i see a picture and the top headine here. lighten up. it has barely been 12 hours.

I could not believe that there is a missing child in the U.P. and TV6 has a picture of a sign and Iron Mountain's sign ordinance as the top story when I logged on on Tuesday morning. It should be a photo of the child and his story.
