IRON MOUNTAIN -- Plans on installing a bike path in Dickinson County continue to move forward.
Though the committee hasn't begun construction yet, they've spoken to the Iron Mountain City Council about beginning work on B Street to city park.
Putting in the path would require striping a four-foot wide lane for cyclists.
Council members were concerned about limiting parking on B Street, however, bike path officials are confident about the project moving forward.
"There seems to be more and more enthusiasm for a bike path in this area," said Bob Werner of the Bike Path Committee. "Like I said, this includes all ten communities in Dickinson County and eventually will connect to Iron County, Marquette County and also to the south in Florence County."
The bike path committee is currently working on fund-raising efforts, though they expect to begin construction on the path later this year.
