Folks came together in Grand Blanc Sunday, trying to find a bone marrow donor match for 5-year-old Sydney Page Gavan.

The Davison girl is fighting leukemia and desperately in need of a life-saving bone marrow transplant. So far, a matching donor has not been found in the bone marrow donor bank.

Residents of Grand Reserve, a Grand Bland active adult community invited the public in all day for a bone marrow registry drive.  They say the more people on the registry, the better the odds they will save Sydney.

You can join the bone marrow donor registry if you are in good health and between the ages of 18 and 65.   All that is needed is a DNA sample, which can be given with a painless mouth swab.
