Fifty-three-year-old man dies

MARENISCO TOWNSHIP -- A Marenisco man has died from an apparent drowning in Marenisco Township.
    
The Gogebic County Sheriff's Department reports that the victim is 53-year-old Jeffery Yakobics was pulled from Red Boat Lake by rescue personnel.
    
He had been fishing with 60-year-old-Michael Negretti, when one of the men lost their balance and they were thrown into the water.
    
Negretti was able to swim to shore but could not find Yakobics.
    
Rescue personnel found Yakobics shortly after they arrived.  He was taken to Grandview Hospital where attempts to revive him were not successful.
