MARQUETTE -- It's one of the hottest events on the campus of NMU. The culinary students hosted their 8th Annual Chili Challenge Tuesday afternoon.
Chefs, community members, and students cooked up their own creations for the public to enjoy. From beer and beef to lamb, each chili had its own unique mix of ingredients.
"It's got onions, celery, corn, chicken, mushrooms and serve it with bleau cheese if you want it or not," said contestant Andrew Tripp.
Ramon Lagunaz, another contestant, used a much different recipe. "My chili has lamb, chipotle, and four kinds of beans and different spices."
"Best use of heat" went to Matthew Chittle for his white bean chili.
Jeremy Pomeroy had the "Most Original."
And "Peoples Choice" and "Best Overall" both went to Tim Klenow for his venison chili with buttermilk squash.
