EMBUDO, NEW MEXICO -- A suspect has been arrested in the shooting death in Embudo, New Mexico last Friday of 47-year-old Mark Weber.

The victim was the son of  Marquette County Circuit Court Judge John Weber, according to the New Mexico State Police.

Thirty-six-year-old Benjamin Myers has been charged with second degree murder in the case.  Police believe that Weber, Myers, and another person were involved in an argument that turned into a fight, and at one point, Myers grabbed a shotgun and shot Weber.

Weber lived in Embudo, which is just north of Espanola.

I'm a cousin of Mark's. I loved him and will miss him. I didn't maintain close contact with Mark over the years. I'm 12 years his junior, but I'll always remember the out of the blue call he made to me when I was about 14 or 15 saying we should stay in touch and he loved me and thought highly of me. I think he was heading out west and we had spent some time together at his older brother John's wedding just prior to that call. My heart is broken, and my thoughts and prayers go out to my Uncle Jack and Aunt Mary. I love you very much.

Love,

Bret

GOD BLESS MARK AND HIS FAMILY AND MAY THEY FIND PEACE IN IT ALL AND MAY THE CRIMINALIST FIND HIS JUSTICE FOREVER. THANK YOU AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Condolences To The Judge

My sincere condolences go out to Judge Weber and his family, who have been respected members of our community for years.
It is doubly tragic that this occurred during the holiday season, and I wish them all the best during this very difficult time.

My thoughts are with the family.

Although I don't know Judge Weber or his family personally, my thoughts and prayers certainly go out to them. It's my hope that they'll find comfort through their family and friends. I'm very sorry for their loss.
