MUNISING -- Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore wants the public to know they have plenty of ski trails for the winter.

The national park has 22 miles of cross country ski trails ready and groomed.

The narrow trails are designed for classic diagonal skiing.

"What our trails really offer is the opportunity to get out and enjoy quiet and solitude," says Jim Northup of Pictured Rocks.  "Our trails are not heavily used, so quite often you can be out there or by yourself or whoever you're skiing with and really enjoy the northwoods in the wintertime."

Officials started grooming the trails last week.
