Marquette business reaches agreement with China.

MARQUETTE -- Pioneer Surgical, one of the U.P.'s most successful high tech businesses, is expanding to China.

The company has joined forces with Bonovo Orthopedics, a leading Chinese manufacturer of orthopedics.  Pioneer designs and manufactures spinal and orthopedic implants and instruments.

The agreement not only makes all of Pioneer Surgical's spine products available in China, but also provides for opportunities to train surgeons from China.

Details of the agreement were not announced.

The company's products are already available in Europe.
