A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV.

DELTA COUNTY -- One person was killed in a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV Saturday afternoon just west of Escanaba.

According to the Delta County Sheriff's Office, an SUV traveling east on US 2 and 41 attempted to make a left turn on to J.5 Road when it crashed into a westbound motorcycle, killing the rider.

The SUV's driver was unharmed.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of family. The accident is under investigation.
