An Amber Alert out of Chicago has authorities along the U.S./Mexico border on high alert.

The children have been missing since Friday when they were allegedly abducted from school by their father Benito Casanova.

The missing children were identified as:

Karla Casanova, 7
Oscar, 6

Their father has family in Mexico.

Authorities believe he may be heading there.

Benito Casanova is described as a 31-year-old Hispanic male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

They were last seen in a silver or gray Dodge Dakota with Illinois license plates 86196HB.
