HOUGHTON -- A hair salon in Houghton is rewarding area students for good grades.

Salon Benefique in the Copper Country Mall is giving free haircuts to students who bring in their report cards and show they received straight A's for the semester. They will be extending this offer throughout the month of February.

The offer also applies to one parent of each student that brings in their report card. Stephen Gostlin of Salon Benefique says the offer is a good way for the store to get connected in the community.

"We're always looking for ways to get involved in our community, and to reward students for getting all A's we thought was just a natural fit," said Gostlin. "We took it a step further and we want to reward the parents that are working so hard to help facilitate that high achievement with their students."

Salon Benefique is a vegan hair salon that uses all organic products.
