MARQUETTE -- Black Friday started at 12 a.m. Friday.  But for a lot of folks, the shopping started Thursday night, at 10 and then another wave of store opened at midnight.

The big box stores are hoping to cash in with deals for shoppers overnight.

For the small retailers, they planned on being open at 7 and 8 a.m. local time.

Store owners are hoping consumers come out and buy, but with the tight economy, it's not expected to be a banner Christmas sales season.

If you're not into Black Friday, there's always Cyber Monday, the big internet shopping day.  That.  You can do from home.
