IRON MOUNTAIN -- Revitalizing communities by developing businesses, schools, and buildings is an important way to keep a city looking alive.  In Iron Mountain there was a meeting geared toward bringing back the main streets in the U.P.

At the Dickinson County Library, business owners, landlords, and city officials met to discuss tools to improve and revitalize the communities of the Upper Peninsula.

"Each of the programs has a narrow focus, but they work most effectively when they're connected with the overarching ideas that come from a main street-like approach to downtown," said Historic Architect, Robert McKay.

Representatives from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority were there to talk about ways to improve and receive funding for area rentals.
