TV6's theme in 2009 is the focus on recovering from the recession in the Upper Peninsula. We will bring to light some of the positive aspects of the business climate in Upper Michigan including but not limited to: entrepreneurs who are succeeding, the charitable giving that goes on here even when the economy is down, people reaching out to their neighbors, and efforts to convince people to stay in the U.P. when they vacation, shop and decide where to live. We believe that negative attitudes were a contributing factor in the recent economic downturn. If that is true, then positive attitudes should contribute to a recovery. Our goal is to make people understand that it’s up to us to pull the U.P. out of hard times and we can only do it by “working together”.
