Get ready for the 2013 mud plunge
ISHPEMING -- If you don't mind getting muddy, you'll want to sign up for the Suicide Hill Mud Plunge!
It's put on by the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce, and early bird registration begins Monday, February 11.
Participants in the Mud Plunge can anticipate a lot of fun, friendly competition, and, of course, mud! There are also a few changes happening with the annual event.
"Some of these changes are that we are going from a one-day event to a two-day event, so that's probably the biggest change. We're going to do a kids run on Friday night down at the Ski Bowl," said Executive Director of the G.I.N.C.C. Elizabeth Peterson.
This year the Mud Plunge will consist of a 1-K Kids Run, a 5-K Twilight Run, a Competitive Run, and a Fun Run.
The event will take off with the 1-K Kids Run on August 23 and end with the Awards Ceremony on August 24.
There will be a live band and food.
People looking to participate are encouraged to register early, since admission prices will increase every few weeks.
