HANCOCK -- Portage Health Hospital says due to the high occurrences of illness to children in the Copper Country, the Family Birthing Center will be temporarily closed to visiting children.

The change in visitation is effective immediately and is being put in place to protect the health of newborns.

This is effective for children under the age of 12 and anybody experiencing any respiratory illness symptoms.
