MARQUETTE -- Residents from the Jacobetti Home for Veterans got a sweet surprise.  Kids from the Silver Creek Head Start program stopped at the Jacobetti Home to thank them for their service.
    
They paraded around with flags and music.  Afterwards the kids gave each Veteran a thank you card and flag.

"I think it's important for the children to understand our patriotism our freedoms how we got that and who helped us get that and why we get to go to school and its our right," said Head Start Teacher, Lucy Loveless.    

She also says it's important to teach kids at an early age the appreciation for those who served our country.
