MARQUETTE -- It was standing room only Wednesday at the Marquette Regional History Center for a performance by the string group Eclettico. The group performed a wide variety of song styles. Classical songs from Tchaikovsky, and Grieg as well as modern pop hits from Britney Spears are all part of their repertoire. The group hopes audience members can gain new appreciation for strings.

"I hope that when people walk away from our concerts they're surprised at how many different kinds of music they hear at a concert with just stringed instruments and drums," said Eclettico Member Alexis Mahler.

There was no cost for the event, however, donations were collected. The money went to the Superior String Alliance. If you missed the performance you can see them again Thursday night at the First Presbyterian Church in Escanaba.
