MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Regional History Center held its third annual Re-Design Fashion Show Thursday. The show featured local designers who used older clothes and other materials to create one of a kind fashions.

Organizers use the event to raise money for the history center. They're hoping the event can become something Marquette is known for.

"I would like people to feel, number one, inspired that maybe they can create themselves, also being knowledgeable of the fact that we don't just always have to throw old things away. Sometimes we can look at something old and revisit that," said Kim Smith, owner of Garden Bouquet & Design.

A number of local re-designers were featured. They also provided their own models for their designs. Following the show, the crowd voted on the best one. The winner will come back next year and be the featured designer.
