KINGSFORD -- Upper Michigan soldiers are coming home from the war in Afghanistan.

The 1432 Engineer Company of the National Guard, based in Kingsford and Iron River, was deployed last May. The unit is coming home March 28, after a nine month deployment.

The 170 men and women are already back in the states at Fort Bliss, Texas where they're being debriefed.

The 1432 will fly into Sawyer International Airport a week from Thursday.

The men and women will then be bused to Kingsford High School for a welcome home ceremony. There will be more on the welcome home coming out later.
