Story Hour at the Peter White Public Library helped kids have fun on St. Patrick's Day

MARQUETTE -- Children celebrated St. Patrick's Day with story hour Sunday at the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.

Students from Northern Michigan University's National Speech Language Hearing Association read stories to kids. Sunday's stories all had a green or Irish theme for St. Patrick's Day, like "Irish Famine" or Dr. Seuss's "Green Eggs and Ham." Five-year-old Taylor Olsen says "Green Eggs and Ham" is one of her favorite books.

"Well, because he tried them at the end, he liked them, and he said thank you to Sam I Am," said Olsen.

The afternoon also included some arts and crafts. Story Hour is held on the second Sunday of each month. The next one is scheduled for April 7 at 2 p.m.
