Police seek panda bandit

DALTON TOWNSHIP (AP) -- Authorities in West Michigan are on the lookout for an adult-size panda bear costume that was stolen during an apparent break-in.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/Y8Co84 ) the sheriff's department got word of the theft in Muskegon County's Dalton Township on Saturday.

The department says someone may have pried open a door on an unattached garage at a cottage. The only thing reported missing was the Halloween costume, which was listed in a police report as being "expensive." Tools and other items were left behind.

The owners are from Norton Shores and only use the cottage during the summer months. Authorities say they don't have any suspects.
