STATE INDIVIDUAL WRESTLING TOURNAMENT - at Auburn Hills
Only eight of the 26 wrestlers from the Upper Peninsula earned victories in the opening day of the tournament.
This is a double elimination event so the other 18 wrestlers have consolation matches Friday.

D-2 Travis Heller of Escanaba won a 14-6 decision at 152 pounds.
D-3 Chris Briar of Menominee earned a 9-3 decision at 135 pounds.
D-4 Alex Edwards of Iron Mountain pinned his 119-pound opponent in 5:56.
D-4 Jared Gauthier of Iron Mountain earned an 8-4 decision at 119 pounds.
D-4 Richard Bentley of St. Ignace dominated his 130-pound oppoenent, winning in a technical fall 15-0.
D-4 Galloway Thurston of St. Ignace pinned his 171-pound opponent in 1:07.
D-4 Jacon Rehn won by forfeit at 171-pounds.
D-4 Joe Ostman of St. Ignace pinned his 215-pound opponent in :46.  It was Ostman's 200th win.
