IRON MOUNTAIN -- Homeless housing was the issue in Iron Mountain Tuesday.

It came before the group known as the Dickinson-Iron Continuum of Care.  Leaders met to find ways to serve the homeless in the community.  The group's goal is to help residents understand the problem and to brainstorm ideas.

"What we have found out is that homelessness is not going away any time soon...can we all agree on that? Can we all agree that this problem is something that is probably not going to decline over the next few years?  What will decline is probably funding," said Continuum member, Chad Harrison.

Some solutions, such as the motel voucher, are already in place, but the group wants to do more.

Leaders are seeking what they call a spirit of collaboration in order to create a community-wide team effort in regards to homeless housing.
