Scouts sled down mountain on cardboard

MARQUETTE -- The bitter cold temperatures did not phase the hundreds of Boy Scouts participating in their annual Cardboard Classic.

The talented scouts used cardboard, tape, and a little design to create some very fast-moving sleds. Over fifteen teams hiked up Marquette Mountain with their sleds to see who could make it to the bottom the fastest.

Cub Scout Eli Mcferrin said with the help of his dad, it took him two hours to make his sled.

"You just take duct tape and cardboard and you just make it. It's fun because you can just have fun," said Cub Scout Eli Mcferrin.

The winners received ribbons and all participating scouts got a 2013 Cardboard Classic patch to put on their uniforms.
