ADAMS TOWNSHIP -- A 28-year-old man from Minnesota lost control of his snowmobile, went airborne, and landed into a ditch.

The accident happened Saturday at approximately 4:55 p.m. The Houghton County Sheriff's office said the crash happened on Trail 3 in Adams Township between Atlantic Mine and South Range.

The driver was treated at the scene and then taken to Portage Health Hospital. He was later transported to Marquette General. No information was given on his current condition.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash, and the accident is still under investigation.
