CRYSTAL FALLS -- An Iron River man is going to prison for up to six years on gun charges stemming from an incident this past summer.

Thirty-seven-year-old Bobby Joe Nordstrom was sentenced Monday in Iron County Trial Court.

Nordstrom, already a convicted felon, pointed a shotgun at a family member last July. He was intoxicated at the time of the incident.  No one was injured, and the family members fled the Iron River Township house.

Nordstrom could have faced life in prison for a felon in possession of a firearm.  Instead, he was given a maximum six years in prison on the assault with a dangerous weapon charge and a one-and-a-half-year sentence on the weapons charge.
