MARQUETTE -- The DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans held a holiday memorial service Thursday for residents who passed away during 2012. The service included special music, reflections and prayer. Doctors from the Jacobetti Home played music and read names of the more than 60 veterans who died in 2012.

"A lot of the veterans live here for...some are just a short while and some are here for a long time. Not only do they get to know each other and the families who visit, get to know each other and they make friendships and they do some bonding," said Brad Slagle Administrator at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans. "this gives them a chance to say goodbye again to each other and to the facility that's been a part of their lives for maybe a long time."

Family members of those died received a special ornament with their loved one's name on it and a logo indicating the branch of military they served.
