IRON MOUNTAIN -- Law enforcement agencies are helping the Marine Corps Reserve to collect donated gifts for Toys for Tots.
Florence, Iron and Dickinson County law enforcement works together with the Marine Corps Reserve by decorating a state trooper car and placing it outside of department stores. The combined effort was started three years ago and has helped over 700 needy children.
"We call it the blue sleigh. This is our second year with it. It's becoming a very familiar feature with Toys for Tots here in the community," said Toys for Tots coordinator, Skip Bilsky.
Toys for Tots was created in 1967 and has been helping create a happy holiday season for less fortunate children ever since.
If you're interested in donating toys, you can drop them off at any one of the participating police stations.
All gifts must be brand new, unwrapped toys for all ages up to 18.
