MARQUETTE -- The Upper Peninsula Children's Museum was a little more colorful Thursday night. They held a painting party as part of their Second Thursday Creative Series. Among other activities, children got their faces painted and painted cookies and rocks. Associates from Kohl's department store were also there as part of their Kohl's Cares program.

"It's very rewarding to come down and see all the different kids that are in the community and to help them kind of do some fun projects around the Children's Museum," said Brett Coleman, Kohl's Store Manager. "We usually help out in the kitchen.  They're doing face painting tonight and usually help out with crafts that are going on here as well."

Members from Kohl's will also be at Marquette Mountain this Saturday for its kids ski and snowboard safety program.

The Second Thursday Creative Series is held every month at the Children's Museum.
