NORWAY -- Norway-Vulcan school students are giving their instruments last minute tuning as they prepare to open Saturday night for the Glenn Miller Orchestra at the Norway Fine Arts Center.

The famous orchestra is known for its unique jazz sound and is considered to be one of the greatest of all time, and students in the jazz band are excited for the chance to work with these professionals.

"I really love Glenn Miller and his music.  I 'm a very big fan and I love playing in the jazz band, so the combination of the two, I'm very excited," said ninth grade band member Aubrey Parrish.

The Norway-Vulcan band director hopes the popular orchestra will attract residents to help raise money for their school's fine arts department.  Proceeds from the concert will go toward student scholarships and purchasing music equipment.   Tickets are $20 and doors open at 7 p.m.
