MUNISING -- Authorities have confirmed four suspects were arrested following an armed foot pursuit at a home invasion call in Munising Township Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities have been very tight-lipped about the details of this case.  The suspects are currently awaiting arraignment in Alger County.  Until then, many questions remain unanswered such as who the suspects are and what they were doing out in the backwoods of Munising Township.

Piece by piece we are getting more information and a better picture of what exactly happened in the backwoods Tuesday afternoon.

"Cops had automatic weapons drawn, pointing toward the house like a movie, " said Powell Lake Resident Randy White.

"Spooky," is how many residents of East Powell Lake Road described Tuesday afternoon. Some say even before authorities had surrounded and blocked off the area, they noticed something seemed "off."

"My son and I were out in the driveway yesterday morning, doing snow cleanup," said White. "A car kept driving by, and it just didn't seem right.  He kept going by and by; it looked kind of shady."

At 11:28 a.m. 911 dispatch received a call from a witness reporting a possible home invasion on East Powell Lake Road.

Michigan State Police, Alger County sheriff deputies and DNR conservation officers responded to the scene.

"When we arrived at the scene, the trooper initially saw a suspect run from near the residence to a wooded area," said Sgt. Dale Hillier of the Michigan State Police. "Responding officers were able to follow the suspects through the snow, behind residences where they were taken into custody."

The resident of 4212, a middle-aged Caucasian male,  was identified as the sole victim in this case. Authorities say he sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The news has the quiet neighborhood buzzing, but authorities say they feel the area is safe.

"The incident was completely investigated.  We are confident we have arrested all four suspects involved," said Hillier.
